FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez Opens CCA’s Mobile Carriers Show
Industry Leaders Gather to Share Innovation and Insight
Keynotes from Ericsson, Nokia, Syniverse, T-Mobile Livestreamed
Palm Springs, CA - CCA’s Mobile Carriers Show (MCS) opened this morning, welcoming carriers and infrastructure providers who shared their latest innovations, technologies, and visionary insights that are shaping the future of mobile connectivity. MCS takes place April 16-18 at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort and Spa in Palm Springs.
In opening remarks, CCA’s CEO and President Tim Donovan commented, “We are busy tracking competitive policy issues – especially access to spectrum, ‘rip and replace, and the 5G Fund – in Washington and our ultimate aim is to ensure carriers have all the tools available to connect Americans across the country, including 5G and fixed wireless.”
Addressing spectrum, Donovan said, “It is a top issue for CCA members, and we continue to work with Congress to ensure our members have the spectrum resources they need and to find a long-term solution. We have accomplished a lot together, and I am confident our hard work will produce more positive results in Washington.”
In her keynote address FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez shared her thoughts on policy, innovation, and commitment to ensuring the United States has a strong competitive telecommunications marketplace that not only promotes economic prosperity and security but also meets the needs of all consumers.
“Thank you to FCC Commissioner Anna Gomez and our keynoters for sharing their insight and perspective on issues impacting mobile carriers,” said Tim Donovan. "MCS is the ideal venue for having meaningful discussions on policy issues and other key topics for competitive carriers including technology advancements in AI, 5G, private networks, spectrum, and unlocking new opportunities for innovation.”
Long time media partner Fierce Network hosted an executive panel today that examined the complexities of transitioning from 4G to 5G/5G Advanced technologies. In his keynote address, Ankur Kapoor, SVP, Network Strategy and Evolution, T-Mobile US discussed “Unleashing the Power of 5G.” Closing out the day’s keynote program, Leslie Shannon, Head of Trend & Innovation Scouting, Nokia, examined “XR Generative AI, and the Network.”
