CCA’s Annual Convention Heads to Portland Focused on 5G, Competitive Policies, and Closing the Digital Divide
FCC Commissioner Nathan Simington to Keynote September 28
Washington, D.C. – CCA’s Annual Convention heads to Portland next week with an extensive line-up of keynote speakers and educational sessions that will address the potential of 5G, expansion of internet infrastructure across the U.S., competitive policy issues, and closing the digital divide. CCA’s Annual Convention will take place September 27-29 at the Portland Convention Center in Oregon. Keynotes and the Annual Achievement Awards will be live streamed.
The FierceWireless Executive Panel sponsored by Ericsson will open the Annual Convention, Wednesday morning, September 28 and focus on mobile wireless ubiquity and how carriers, suppliers, and government policymakers can successfully address demands for ubiquitous 5G.
In the afternoon, FCC Commissioner Nathan Simington will kick-off the keynote program with a focus on 5G and closing the digital divide, followed by remarks by Salim Kouidri, SVP, Technology, T-Mobile; Steve Zitnik, EVP and CTO of Interop Technologies; and Loris Zaia, VP major accounts, Mavenir.
On Thursday, September 29, CCA will present its Annual Achievement Awards honoring individuals and companies that made significant contributions to the wireless industry over the past year. Following the Awards ceremony, David Eckard, VP of Strategy and Technology of North America, Nokia will deliver keynote remarks, followed by Mike Keegan, CEO of TNS; and Bob Chiodo, VP, Americas of Syniverse.

The educational program includes four tracks: Business Development, Technical, Marketing/Customer Experience, and Policy and will explore competitive carrier policy initiatives, migration strategies for 5G standalone, trends in automating customer engagement, revenue generating opportunities for 5G investments, recruiting talent for rural operations, network optimization, public safety, and more.
