Washington, D.C., September 16, 2020 – FierceWireless will return to Competitive Carriers Association’s (CCA) Annual Convention to host a Keynote Panel, Can OpenRAN Hit Its Stride?, featuring executives from DISH, Open RAN Policy Coalition, and Mavenir. CCA’s Annual Convention will take place virtually on Wednesday, October 21.
The Keynote Panel will be held from 12:00 – 12:45 pm ET and be moderated by Rob Pegoraro, contributor to FierceWireless. Panelists will examine how software is being used to tie together components from different suppliers and how Open Radio Access Networks (OpenRAN) promises an end to vendor lock-in and elevated pricing. They will discuss how OpenRAN can be a positive solution for security-minded policymakers and also try to answer the question, “If OpenRAN is to overthrow incumbents, what will happen to standardization of interfaces, architecture scalability, and energy efficiency?”
Panelists will include:
- John Baker, SVP business development, Mavenir
- Jeff Blum, EVP, external and legislative affairs, DISH
- Diane Rinaldo, executive director, Open RAN Policy Coalition
“We are delighted to welcome FierceWireless back to our Annual Convention with an important keynote panel that will address OpenRAN, an issue that is top of mind for competitive carriers,” said Steven K. Berry, president and CEO of CCA. “The line-up of executives from DISH, Open RAN Policy Coalition, and Mavenir will provide attendees with knowledge about the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
The FierceWireless Keynote Panel is sponsored by Mavenir and is part of the Convention conference program. Registration is open; there is no charge to attend.
CCA’s Annual Convention will be held online and will feature conference programming with four tracks: technical, business development, marketing/customer service, and policy. Attendees can view and meet with exhibitors and fellow attendees from 9:00 – 5:00 pm ET.
